Toetsenbord vervangen

The part you touch most is the first to fail. A key that sticks, a row that drops out, or a touchpad that makes the cursor jump. We replace keyboards and touchpads of all brands, with the correct layout and the correct colour.

How you notice it

Keys that no longer register, or that produce two characters at once. A space bar that only works in the middle. A whole row dropping out — that usually points to a loose or damaged ribbon connection rather than the whole keyboard.

For the touchpad: a jumping cursor, clicks that do not register, or scrolling that works one moment and not the next. If the pad lifts on one side, check battery replacement first; that is almost always a swollen battery underneath.

What we do

First we check whether the fault is in the keyboard or in its connection to the mainboard. That matters, because a loose ribbon connector is far cheaper than a complete keyboard. Then we fit a unit with the same layout as the original.

• Replacing the keyboard, in QWERTY US or NL as you prefer
• Replacing individual keys and keycaps where possible
• Repairing the ribbon connection on the mainboard
• Replacing the touchpad and its cable
• Checking the backlight on models that have one

After a spill

If liquid has gone over the keyboard, a new keyboard is often not enough. Moisture seeps down to the mainboard and causes corrosion there, even weeks later. In that case we always look at the board first.
