Product condition
Every product in our shop carries a label showing its condition. Below you can read exactly what each label means, so you know in advance what you will receive. Every device is tested in our own workshop in Amersfoort before it is shipped.
IBO Computers provides 2 years warranty on laptops, desktops, workstations and monitors, whatever the condition. For separate parts and accessories the period varies; it is stated with the product.
New Sealed
Unused: the device or component is completely new and has had no previous owner.
No wear: there are no signs of use, wear or earlier repairs.
Original packaging: the product comes in the original, unopened packaging from the manufacturer.
Accessories and manuals: including all original accessories, manuals and extras that belong to the product.
Warranty: the full manufacturer's warranty, usually 2 years. We handle the process for you — there is no need to contact the manufacturer yourself.
New Blank
Unused: the device or component is completely new and has had no previous owner.
No wear: there are no signs of use, wear or earlier repairs.
Blank packaging: the product is new, but is supplied in plain packaging instead of the manufacturer's own box. This occurs with larger batches that the manufacturer delivers without individual boxes.
Accessories and manuals: including all original accessories, manuals and extras that belong to the product.
Warranty: the full manufacturer's warranty, usually 2 years. We handle the process for you.
New Open Box
Unused: the device is new and has had no previous owner.
Opened box: only the packaging has been opened, for example because an order was cancelled or because we checked the product. The device itself has not been used.
No wear: there are no signs of use, wear or earlier repairs.
Accessories and manuals: complete with the original accessories, manuals and extras, unless stated otherwise with the product.
Warranty: the full manufacturer's warranty, usually 2 years. We handle the process for you.
An open-box product is new, but usually cheaper than the same product in a sealed box.
Demo
Display model: the device has been used as a demonstration or display model, for example in a shop or at a trade fair. It has never been sold to a customer as a new product.
Little use: a demo model has usually only been switched on for a short period and has been lightly used.
Appearance: light marks of use are possible. Apart from that the device looks like new.
Tested: the device is fully tested in our own workshop before it leaves us.
What you receive: the accessories and packaging included are stated with the product.
Warranty: 2 years warranty from IBO Computers.
Renew
Renew is our name for what the market calls remanufactured: the device is taken apart completely and rebuilt. This goes further than refurbished.
Complete disassembly: the product is taken apart completely, down to the frame and the basic components.
Inspection and assessment: every part is carefully inspected for wear, damage or defects.
Repair or replacement: worn or damaged parts are repaired or replaced with new or reconditioned parts.
Reassembly: the product is put back together with the reconditioned or new parts.
Testing and quality control: after reassembly the product is thoroughly tested, so that it meets the specifications and our quality standards.
Cosmetic finishing: where necessary the product is touched up cosmetically, so that it looks like new.
Packaging and warranty: the product is supplied in new packaging, with 2 years warranty from IBO Computers — the same period as on a new device.
Refurbished
Thorough inspection: every part of the product is carefully inspected for faults, damage or defects.
Repair and replacement: worn or damaged parts are repaired or replaced with new or reconditioned parts.
Cleaning and cosmetic restoration: the product is cleaned thoroughly and cosmetic faults are repaired where possible.
Functional test: after the work has been done the product is tested extensively, so that it works properly and meets our quality standards.
Warranty: 2 years warranty from IBO Computers on laptops, desktops, workstations and monitors, whatever the grade below.
Refurbished A+ (as good as new)
The product shows no or minimal signs of wear, scratches or cosmetic defects and looks like new.
Refurbished A
The product may show a few minor cosmetic defects, such as light scratches. These do not affect the functioning of the product.
Refurbished B
The product may show visible signs of wear, such as scratches, dents or discolouration. These do not affect the functioning of the product.
Refurbished C
The product may show significant signs of wear, scratches, dents or other cosmetic defects, which affect its appearance. These do not affect the functioning of the product. This is usually the most affordable choice.
Testing and warranty
Whatever the condition: every device is fully tested in our own workshop at Radonweg 10 in Amersfoort before it is shipped. Should something go wrong after all, we carry out the repair ourselves, down to component level. So there is no waiting for an external service centre.
